The universe is infinite and its expanding.

"BioShock" is "Infinite" ... it's a bloody shame it's not expanding, because I'd reallby like it to. It deserves to expand.

Let's open a book on this one. I'm going along with hype and my own hunch so I'm going big: 9.8

BioShock" is "Infinite yeah so is the ending. Finish the game and you will get the pun. Hint butterfly effect.

I think my one of my biggest pet peeves, especially with story lines, is a plot line that tries too hard to mess with timelines/alternate realities, and in the end it becomes FUBAR because they couldn't keep track. In a particular timeline/reality either A or B happens, not both, that choice/result cannot coexist in the same timeline/reality unless you explain how result A or B jumps ship in some plausible manner. Bioshock Infinite screws the pooch on that score. Otherwise, fantastic game.

12h sp only game- really infinite.

It's just another Bioshock. It plays the same. Gameplay wise, I think Dishonored is better.

I guess, I'm very tired of the same all "shooter formula".

Anyway, was there a hype for this game? Except for some major, mostly online games, I don't understand where should I look, to see if there's a "hype" for a game and how BIG it is. I know the developers were hyped though..

It's the first game from... the last Bioshock?... that has that wonder efect on me.
But gameplay wise... I must agree that is under Dishonored (of which some people disappointment I didn't understand), and even under the first Bioshock which, because of the set up, had that creepy horror feeling to it which this lacks.
And it's a shame, because everything it's played alright. There is a pacing, there is balance between fights and exploration. I don't know, I guess it's a little feeling of action on rails to it, and suddenly obvious scripted events... simplified gameplay.
Still, very beautiful set up.

It was really great and sad and touching at the end for me. Often, the world seemed a bit empty during normal gameplay. Did anyone else feel that way? Maybe more subplots where you help various people could have filled it out. Maybe if people came back out on the streets after a conflict would have made it seem more alive. I found myself walking empty streets and buildings a lot. Anyway these games are on a whole other level and I think I will restart Bioshock 1 now.

Bioshock 1 lacked one thing that could have made it perfect, a balanced well thought gameplay.

so much potential, always so much potential wasted away in the end.

I'm enjoying Bioshock Infinite so far.

The gameplay itself is significantly better than the first Bioshock... there's actually a challenge now on Hard difficulty (in stark contrast to Bioshock 1), and once you get to the point where Tears and skyhook lines are around to be used in most major fights, the combat can get pretty awesomely frenetic and dynamic.

The characters are also better, imo, and the plot is more compelling. This isn't to say Bioshock 1's narrative was bad (it was still very good, of course), but the main characters felt faceless and removed for most of the game, and the 'big twist' of the story was easily foreseen because hints given out beforehand were too obvious. Bioshock Infinite's narrative seems to have specifically addressed those shortcomings of its predecessor.

About the only area in which I feel Infinite doesn't improve on Bioshock 1 is setting and atmosphere. Columbia is interesting, but overall Rapture was much more fascinating, both as a concept and as a setting. In my opinion, of course.

Gamespy was the best source I had for up-to-date releases and hype. Actiontrip has been a good place to get quality reviews and opinions on games.

Unfortunately Gamespy is gone and the remaining sites other than Actiontrip are garbage so far....
