Motion Sensitive X360 Camera, Voice Recognition Tech

Another bit of pretty interesting news from yesterday's Microsoft E3 press
conference. "Introducing Project
Natal, a revolutionary new way to play: no controller required. See a ball?
Kick it, hit it, trap it or catch it. If you know how to move your hands, shake
your hips or speak you and your friends can jump into the fun -- the only experience
needed is life experience," says MS.
"You are the controller," is the message MS wants to convey. They've showcased a new motion-sensitive controller for the Xbox 360, in the form of a camera that includes voice recognition as well. This handy and fun little accessory is code-named Project Natal. So, far only mini-games and a few tech demos were on display, but it pretty much clear where game technology will be a few years from now.

my office space has all my consoles PC/xbox360/PS3/Nintendo 8bit (the last ever Nintendo i owned) but it's a tiny little room...
At least I would be the one getting paid!
they made so much fuzz about the wii motion plus it was painful, sony didn't announce that the Dual Shock 3 had better motion sensing (but it's a big fricking deal at nintendo 8)
Nintendo has just shot itself in the foot, and have alienated their entire current user base in process..
Apple/Sony/Microsoft are going to smoke Nintendo next year...
lol@xbox360 (xbox360 lol@u)...
We get it, you praise the PS3 and Sony. Just stop using rehearsed replies and lighten up. You're resembling Marvin the Paranoid Android at the moment.
this for that.
it's because you and others are crying about exclusive titles, deal with or get a job...
save your money burning! instead of boozing and screaming on xbox live in Halo3 (i know it's you buddy! i know it's you!)
so i think i should change my name :D
burning sounds like a good one (héhé)
theburningstewie.
I just find your retaliation for the 'lol@ps3' joke pointless. None of us here are actually die-hard Xbox fanboys, you know? We only say lol@ps3 because the Sony fanboys seem to take it so seriously every time and it's just amusing. Step out of the stereotype and laugh with us for a change.
P.S. I have never ever owned a Halo game. I think that whole series is overwhelmingly mediocre.
i only play 6hours a month online and still u have to pay for a full month?
there is no logical explanation, because the quality of online isn't better then the PC/PS3 where it's free.
there is no way any game is worth a monthly charge (pc/ps3/xbox360).
and i ain't paying for it, not here there or anywhere.
BTW: you don't have to be a fanboi to appriciate games. i have been playing my PS3 alot more than my Wii (or my 8bit NES with over 400 games for that matter) but that doesn't mean I'm going to blindly ingore a good thing.
doesn't make someone a fanboy, like i don't like god of war and other PS3 games.
it could have been developed by a hunk of clay, i still wouldn't care.
it isn't kotor3 or mass effect 2.
there is nothing on the wii that interests me, i outgrew them (maybe if i get kids, who knows?)
But, it is not for me.
Since my athletic days of glory are over, I don’t think I would last longer than 10 minutes swinging my arms, jumping, and running, while fighting with legions of orcs, imps, or whatever enemies you can think of.
I share my sentiments here with JamesPC.
Serious gaming is more of a concentration and endurance of the mind for me.
Unless this technology can isolate the movements of the fingers and hands (substituting the controller), I don’t think it will spill into the hard-core games.
But hey, Microsoft noticed huge support Wii received from casual gamers and decided to join the crowd.
So, no sweat, it’s good for the masses, but most of us will probably continue ‘molesting’ our keyboards and mice.
I think more then 70% of the video gamers worldwide (including casual gamers) can barely afford 1 console.
so do you.
the PS3/xbox360/PC/monitors are the only objects i own.
i don't have a car, i don't smoke, i rarely drink, don't have a house "rent", and all my money is directly going to my savings account.
i bought the ps3 and xbox360 from my tax return, it's money i otherwise wouldn't have.
u probably go on vacations and drink.
i have been sober for over 6months.
If I had a 360, I'd play that handsfree webcam thing naked and make it scan my weapon
now THAT shit is crazy... although it may not be happening anytime soon.. will be interesting to see what happens when the only social interaction some people end up getting is from their AI buddies...
