Mass Effect, the next installment in its action/RPG series (more 'action' less 'RPG') is currently in development over at BioWare Montreal. For now, there's little we know about the game and the characters in it. We do know that there won't be any more stories about Commander Shepard.

The developer did, however, take the opportunity to confirm that they are utilizing the Frostbite 2 engine to power the game.

"There is really not much I can tell you about the game right now, except that it will be built with the amazing technology of Frostbite as its foundation, enhanced by many of the systems that the Dragon Age III team has already spent a lot of time building," as confirmed by Studio Director BioWare Montreal.

By the way, the Frostbite engine is also being used for upcoming titles such as the new Command & Conquer game, Battlefield 4 and Dragon Age III: Inquisition.

	Reply Good it could be good or bad . Still sounds like the next one might be more different than the rest. I hope it's not a pure FPS with cut-scenes and dialog. Wait that's what the games are already. Joking aside I'll keep my eye on the game you never know.

	Reply Still don't know how they are going to do this, end of the last game was a galaxy changing event. So they will have to make 4 different games depending on which ending you chose or loose the whole thread.

	Reply Please don't (a) be a prequel, (b) highly focused on humans, (c) basing humanity as the "ultimate race" that saves the galaxy (again), or (d) lack the RPG elements that were scrapped after the original (and best) Mass Effect. I wouldn't mind a Freespace kinda game in the ME universe. That'd be sweet. Fuckin' dreams.
