No Plans for Gears of War 2 PC

Rumors started spreading not too long ago that Epic Games is going to deliver a PC port of their successful Xbox 360 shooter Gears of War 2 before the end of 2009. Regardless of this recent wave of speculation, it seems logical Epic would take this course of action, seeing as they have done the same thing with the original. Also, the PC edition of Gears of War turned out great.

Despite all this, Epic Games, it would appear, doesn't have any intention of developing GoW 2 for any other platform at this time. Epic's PR Dana Cowley made things pretty clear on the matter: "We have no plans for a PC version of Gears of War 2."

Well said. Now, the only thing I don't understand is why the hell would someone give up on certain profit? Either they're pulling our legs or they've gone completely mad.

Gears of War in general was a disgrace. Perhaps they decided to just stick with that Unreal money.

GOW PC was really good! buggy, but good! loved playing it. sad GOW2 is not coming for the PC.. assfucks!

EPIC needs to stop developing PC games altogether. How many more shiny, plasticy botfests do we need? The console gamers may as well keep that turd of a series as well.

Those slimy sons of bitches! They made Gears of War for PC, but they are leaving us in the dark for Gears of War 2!? I'm sure MS is behind this, they want all of us on their 360 boat.

Maybe Epic just doesn't have the available manpower to dedicate a development cycle to producing a decent port.

Sure, they could probably pump one out real quick, but it would be a medicore, half-baked port job, and who really wants that?


So what is Epic probably too busy making instead of a PC port of GoW 2?

Almost certainly Gears of War 3, of course.

I dunno about Gears of War 2, but I bet MS will make Halo 3 a Windows 7 only game.
