PlayStation Vita Named, Priced

The PlayStation Vita has officially been named, replacing a bad name (NGP) with a worse one. This is the replacement to the PSP, if you forget about the PSP Go. I have.

The Vita has also been priced. For 250 dollars, you get the standard unit. For 300 dollars, you get the unit enabled with 3G, meaning you have the honor of paying AT&T for marginal service every month. No carriers outside of AT&T have been announced, nor has pricing information been released explaining how much this 3G coverage is going to cost each month.

To make sure everyone knows how great this is, Sony announced that the PSP has sold 70 million units. Since the machine has been on the market for 6 years, this is less than impressive.

Wow, the hate in that post is almost palatable. But the thing about the Vita isn't the games it will run, it's the possibility of the ridiculous amount of homebrew.
