When THQ sadly dissolved earlier this year, Deep Silver (Koch Media) picked up Volition from the sale, and therefore, also acquired the Saints Row IP. This morning, Deep Silver announced that not only would Saints Row IV continue development, but it's coming out this year, right before Grand Theft Auto V, in fact.

They also released a new trailer that depicts exactly how insane the next Saints Row will be. You may not want to watch this at work or around your kids; just saying.

Saints Row IV will release on August 20th on current-gen consoles, including the PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. Sorry Wii U fans, it's not correctly slated for that console.

	Reply I keep waiting for the monty python guy who says "Quite silly quite silly" to come along but he never does :( (this game is really getting way to silly)

	Reply I spent quite some time with SR3, but this looks way too stupid. I think an option to rape yourself in public would be great to top it alll off.

	Reply Haven't played the first one. 2nd one was a pain in the ass to play (I had to speed hack it to lower values because it was all happening way too fkn fast, some bug with C2D processors I think was the reason, can't remember). SR3 was fun on occasion. Loved the soundtrack, enjoyed the graphics, liked the style of splash screens after finishing the mission and such. Still, IMHO, it lacked something in the game play or maybe the story itself. It wasn't the humor - sometimes, after meeting another idiot of a client at work, it's just what you may need. It also wasn't the replayability - different character, different voiceover, different approach, slightly different endings. Dunno what it was, but it wasn't there. Nevertheless, I may consider checking this one out when it's a tad closer to release date.
