Sims 3 to Sell 4M in 2009

Analyst
Mike Hickey predicts that EA's approaching game The Sims 3 -- slated to
launch during June -- could sell up to 4 million units this year. This means
it would surpass sales of The Sims 2, which sold 3.5 million units in its first
year. Mind you, Hickey also believes
that there will be an impact of the "demographic transition towards newer entertainment
forms like Nintendo's Wii and DS."
"With such a vibrant and active community as The Sims has, we wanted to build even further on the already immense offline experience, by offering players additional functionality, content and tools available online through the game," said Ben Bell, executive producer on The Sims 3.

I mean, really, I have not yet met anybody (in person) who plays The Sims.
Unless all of them are occupying some isolated farm in Tibet (kinda Amish style), it’s hard for me to believe in the Sims player existence.
And BTW, I don’t believe Sword Fight is telling us the truth.
