According to a product list on EA's website/store, Mass Effect 3 is most likely BioWare's Spike VGA announcement. The info on ME 3 supposedly got posted prematurely and from what was gathered by various sites around the Web, "Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth. Just so you know, this still isn't official, so we're waiting for a confirmation on BioWare as soon as they make the announcement tonight via Spike.

It's also been speculated that ME 3 will include a multiplayer feature, which isn't in the least bit surprising.

As for me personally, all I want is at least a morsel of RPG elements returned from the original ME. That's the only thing I've missed when I played ME 2 (otherwise, it was a top-notch experience).
