If its a broken piece of shit like the first one, then its still a broken piece of shit, but if they can fix it more so then they did on clear sky, this game has potential.

This game always had potential, but I couldn't make myself play it all the way through. The atmosphere is there, and one of the best in games, but it felt... dunno ... kinda cheap... oh, and bugs... ugh...

one of the worst games ever made.....but i have respect for it because in its own way attracts attention from ignorants around the world to something that has become a symbol more than just an after-effect.

maybe just maybe some people will have some balls and go visit the place and contemplate some deep shit.

if you ever asked yourself what it would feel to be the last living soul in the world, Prypiat has your answer.

i think i know why the game failed miserably, to be honest it's because you can hardly convey into words the whole thing let alone try and capture it through a game.

I never did play the whole first game all the way through, but damn I did love the atmosphere. Whoever wrote the code to render the sky needs to be kicked in the nads multiple times though, because I swear this was where the whole game fell apart from a technical perspective. I'd be playing along fine then I'd get to a part where I'd have to look at the ground to travel from building to building because I'd go from 60 fps down to 0.5 fps. And then there are the crashes in the render sky function (yeah it even tells you...)

But I did love the atmosphere. The rawness of the game reminded me of the old Commodore 64 days where you just had to "figure it out" with no hand holding or quest arrows. Head shot? You is dead. In case you are wondering, the word I'm looking for (and trying not to use) is "hardcore." It just felt old-school hard-core to me.

STALKER = wasted potential. Remember the old trailers with vehicles and stuff ? :(

Despite the bugs and strange glitches, I enjoyed the original.
And it definitely didn't fail miserably.
Weather or not it resembles the real thing is of little importance. For all I care it could be some town called Pelvisville on a planet Catinaurn.
The game was immersing and that's what matters. For me, at least.

As for this, well it doesn't look like much of a improvement after 2 years...

We shall see, then we shall judge.

I LOVED the atmosphere of the games, but they were just too linear and action-oriented, more rpg, more open-ended, less bugs!

I didn't the finish the first game but I loved the atmosphere and enjoyed every moment of it. The aiming wasn't how it should have been and the AI failed in most aspects. Still, you felt like you're in Chernobyl. In short - Atmosphere 5 , AI and bugs 2.

P.S. It fells kinda of dumb to make 3 games based in pretty much the same place. Doesn't make you feel like experiencing something new.

I'm still playing the first game. But a part of the game is glitched and I can't complete a certain quest because the mother fucker won't follow me/move along.

They never fixed the first game, technically. But that's what you get from an eastern european developer.

One of the best games in the last few years. Clear Sky was also very good , still playing some of the mods like Priboy Story.

I hope this next game will have less technical problems though.
