Star Wars: 1313 Announced, On Display @ E3
LucasArts finally stepped up and unveiled their latest project - a brand new Star Wars game, interestingly dubbed "Star Wars: 1313." They described this one as a 3rd-person cinematic action adventure game that takes place on Coruscant. The game strives to show the underworld of Coruscant, with players assuming control of "a lethal bounty hunter in a never-before-seen dark and mature world."

The so-called 'Level 1313' is a huge subterranean city deep beneath the surface of the planet Coruscant where the criminal underworld thrives. You play as a bounty hunter who tries to stay alive in this tough environment. "Exotic weaponry and gadgets" were promised, supposedly to help you survive. Other stuff was mentioned such as "cover-based combat, epic platforming and seamless playable cinematic gameplay" and so on.

"We're excited to share one of the projects LucasArts has been hard at work developing," said Paul Meegan, President, LucasArts. "Star Wars 1313 dives into a part of the Star Wars mythos that we've always known existed, but never had a chance to visit. We are committed to bringing the best gameplay experience and visual fidelity to life and I truly believe the work we are showcasing at E3 will speak for itself."

The development team is working closely with various branches of Lucasfilm, including ILM, Skywalker Sound and Lucasfilm Animation Ltd.

Well, pretty damn sweet, I'd say. Now, here are some teaser images:

Now, that might be reaaaally interesting as with some luck you arent a jedi (while i do like jedi's they are a tad overdone gamewise) to see that interesting universe from another perspective other than jedi seems like a good idea, hope it turns into a good game.

Hope it doesn't collide with Prey 2. And yes, non-jedi SW games are always cool, Republic Commando is still one of my favourite FPS games.

This is going to be Console exclusive most probably! They wont want their PC guys to get away from SWTOR!

Sounds pretty sweet. Been a while since we got a good SW game. Republic Commando? Great IP. So many planets and cultures in there.

I'm interested in this game. Hopefully Doomsday is wrong, and it DOES come to PC.

Joining the Mass Effect bandwagon, are we? What think of next will they?

I was thinking it would be set in the Old Republic era, but TIE fighters.

Eh, maybe.

Hasn't been a compelling Star Wars game since Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast. Shit, was that awesome.

Maybe they can put something together this time around. Something that doesn't disappoint me and doesn't end up with an unreleased game that would have been FUCKING AWESOME. RIP FREE RADICAL.

Cover-based combat is kinda disappointing information. Definitely console-based game.
