The Hobbit Kicks Ass @ Weekend Box Office

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the latest movie from director Peter Jackson, conquered the box office and generated $84 million. This means that the flick officially had a better opening than any of the three Lord of the Rings movies that preceded it.

If any of you haven't seen Lincoln yet, you should. Incredibly well-written. Hard for me to recall the last time I had been so engrossed by sheer conversation in a movie. And needless to say, Day-Lewis is absolutely amazing playing the character. As something of a history nut, and particularly so in regard to that era, I can testify that he is brilliantly faithful to anecdotal accounts of the man's manner and personality.
Anyway, looking forward to the new Les Miserables in a week.
