The Witcher 3 Main Story is 50+ Hours Long

CD Projekt Red has been saying for some time that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be a huge game, but just how long will it be? Co-founder Marcin Iwinski told IGN that for the main story alone, The Witcher 3 will take about 50 hours to complete, and that's just if you're going to skimp on the side quests.

"We're looking at roughly 50 hours for the main storyline depending on your gameplay style and the difficulty level," he said. "If you do most or all of the side quests, you're looking at anything between 100 to 120 hours of gameplay."

Can't complain that this will only take a weekend to go through. I know what I'll be doing for the remainder of the year, as I'm quite the side quest junkie.

The Witcher 3 will release for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2014.

One of these days...ONE of these days, I'm going to finish Witcher 2...

...and maybe even Witcher 1.

I'll see myself out.

Witcher 3 is one of the VERY few games I'm interested in this year. I will take my sweet time with it :)

I'd buy this fucker on day numero uno if I wouldn't know that there'll be the inevitable Enhanced Edition a year later. I'm usually a very patient critter but this is going to be one painful wait *sigh*. Will preorder the EE the day it is listed on Amazon tho and not a single fucking day later.

Neither Witcher 1 or 2 really grabbed me that much. The combat is poor and I just couldn't like any of the characters. I'm sure I'll get this at some point, but I just don't get that excited about the Witcher games.

@CJ_Parker - buy at at gog.com on day 1 - that way you'll get enhanced version for free when they release it, like it was the case with witcher 1 & 2.

I know dude but why buy on day one when I'm not going to play until the EE? I have bought the CEs of both previous Witchers on day one and then waited for the EE patches until I started to play. This time I will wait until the EE before dropping any money on the game even if the wait is going to be torturous.

The Witcher 3 is the single reason 2014 is going to be better than the overall disappointment that was 2013.
