THQ Says Zelnick Should Mind His Own Business
Filed under: TAKE-TWO, THQ
Following up on Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick's ill predictions for THQ's future, here's what THQ had to say: "Obviously, Mr. Zelnick's perception of THQ is outdated and inaccurate. His comments are irresponsible and false. Perhaps he would be better off commenting on his own business." (thanks Joystiq)

Ouch.

Hm, still, I don't think Zelnick will be bothered much by this. He's probably too busy lighting his cigar with 100-dollar bills to care.

Hey, look, guys, I just found that ActionTrip has a Zelnick's Mom tag buried in our archives. Wow, I almost forgot that story.

THQ better not go out of business. Some of my favorite games come from them!

Love THQ, one of the best out there, in a market dominated with crappy EA and activision...

I like THQ for the simple fact that they are very good to their studios, usually giving them a loose leash and, for example, not forcing them into rapid development cycles for the sake of maximizing profits.

I hope they survive. There's a lot of artistically bankrupt publishers in this industry, but THQ isn't one of them.

They just need to make some better business decisions (Homefront was an expensive mistake). Until they rebound, they should focus solely on riding Relic, 4A, Vigil, and Volition, and market Darksiders 2 and Metro 2033 hard.

Oh and btw, Zelnick's comments are pretty stupid considering it was Homefront, a completely original intellectual property, that has hurt THQ more than anything else.

Back in 2007 THQ posted annual revenues in excess of 1 billion USD, so they've had plenty of success with licensed properties.

THQ brought it on themselves with overpaid executives. Plus like stated before a few bad investments. Namely uDraw and the disappointing Homefront.
