'Titan' Probably Blizzard's Next-Gen MMOG

Early this month we reported that Blizzard's hugely anticipated hack'n'slash Diablo III has a good chance to arrive some time in Q4 2011 - that's according to a leaked product slate from Blizzard.

Mind you, the same leaked product slate pointed towards a mysterious project referred to as "Titan." Blizzard did not wish to make any comments on the topic until recently. It turns out this is true, as the company confirms that 'Titan' is, in fact, its next-gen MMO.

"The media is not supposed to know anything about that. It's our next-gen MMO project," Blizzard's senior VP Frank Pearce reveals in a statement.

He continues: "We've only started talking about it in a limited fashion because we want to leverage the fact that we're working on something like that for the purpose of recruiting - getting some of the best talent in the industry on that project."

So, the funny thing is that when this 'Titan' project emerges, it could easily prove what we've been suspecting all along: that not even Blizzard can outdo its own product (i.e. WoW). As a result, they'll kill off everything else and just continue working on Wow for eternity.

C'mon guys, don't you think you have enough money? Just make a damn single-player RPG already with superb and delicious gameplay mechanics and those incredible, kick-ass cinematics. Is that too much to ask?

Too much to ask? Sure it is! Wow will always make the most money!

I wonder if it will be still around when I die.
But Blizzard also stated, that they don´t want to extend player´s level behind 100. So maybe they plan to overtake with this Titan.
Anyway, go Old Republic!!!

There are titans in WoW, so maybe it's related. "World of the Old Warcraft" ?

i agree with Vader's last paragraph. Why can't they just get their asses out of all this MMO crapp!

Because, as we all know, it's a multi-billion dollar business now. And if you're the top company in the business, you sure as hell ain't gonna back down now. You're just gonna continue looking for more ways to make an even bigger mountain of gold bullion.

1. As I recall, Blizzard have not built any single player RPG. I doubt they will change their resume

2. Titan can be next big WoW expansion or WoW 2. This makes much more sense, than trying to shoot yourself in the foot.

Blizzard will keep milking WoW until the last gamer cancels his/her subscription.
