Jordan Mechner, the creator of the original Prince of Persia game, has trademarked the name Prince of Persia Prodigy. This has, normally, spawned rumors of a brand new Prince of Persia game and now it seems Ubisoft has decided to reel in PoP fans by launching what appears to be a teaser web site for a new Prince of Persia game.

There's nothing on the site, but a flash animation of black goo (or at least it looks like black goo) swirling across an Arabic sign, which means "Minjar" or telescope, as translated by eager fans.

Ubi's forums are currently crammed with threads on what this new project might be. Ubisoft community manager hasn't denied the connection between the newly launched web site and PoP Prodigy. He simply said: "give it time."
