Ubi's Assassin's Creed II DRM Server Crashes
Yesterday there have been reports on the official Assassin's Creed II forums about Ubisoft's DRM authentication servers crashing, with players having to endure lengthy login periods when booting up the game. For many people the game just locks entirely.

Ubisoft's rep wrote on the forum that "clearly the extended downtime and lengthy login issues are unacceptable, particularly as I've been told these servers are constantly monitored."

He also said: "I'll do what I can to get more information on what the issue is here first thing tomorrow and push for a resolution and assurance this won't happen in the future."

Oh c'mon Ubisoft. Isn't it about time you went back to the drawing board on this one?

It's just not fun to point and laugh at Ubi's stupidity anymore.

It's like making fun of mentally challenged people. Funny at first, but loses it's satisfaction quickly.

Comon', Ubi! Do something else that's completely retarded so I can feel sweet satisfaction again!
PainZero: Yeah, I know it's rude to laugh at the mentally challenged.....

wow, that came faster than expected.

I bet they will blame pirates for their crashed servers.

With a stroke of genius, Ubisoft eliminated piracy for good. Legitimate users couldn't be more pleased. I'm jerking off to the Ubi logo as I write this.

Oh, it quite possibly was the pirates. Sounds like a DDoS to me.

This is excactly the kind of thing they NEED to avoid. So they came up with a new kind of DRM, ok fine. Knowing what kind of negative feelings and doubt people have with !!! There for they should have been EXTRA carefull, proving people that this kind of DRM isn't as bad as it seems, there for insert confidence in to people who are in doubt.
But having problems, before the game is even out world wide!!?? I don't know what the fuck where they thinking.

Apparantly it wasn't UBI's fault, but the evil hackers. (ohhh, come on)

I was experiencing the whole 'establishing connection' thing last night, but I just thought my interwebs were going slow, so I multitasked, arbed, then went back in to play. Tonight I played ME2 instead ;/ UbiAIDS.

HA, HA, HA, HA! Take that Ubisoft! I feel sorry for the people who bought ACII on PC. I'm going to enjoy it on the PS3.

tei187: naaah, this drm will be cracked by then... or so i believe
rogue109 [mail] Mar 08 2010, 08:32 pm EST
I'm quite happy to see this bitting them in the ass. I only hope it continues enough so they remove that draconian DRM so I can buy the game. I won't buy it otherwise.
