Back in April 2012, the post-apocalyptic RPG Wasteland 2 garnered a lot of greens via Kickastarter and is one of those games we are really looking forward to. The game is in development over at inXile and we've just received word that they have released the first gameplay footage.

UPDATE: Sorry folks, but it appears that the footage was taken down from Vimeo.

	Reply Seems like the perfect progression of Wasteland, Fallout 1, 2 & Tactics to me. A little dose of Commandos too which is no bad thing. Like you say, really like where this is going.

	Reply It's nice but we've seen this setting countless times before in Fallout and similar games. It would be nice if someone would make a sequel to Arcanum for a change.

	Reply The tactical gameplay itself seems a bit lacking. Not much depth there, or visual panache by modern standards. The game will need to make up for it with narrative, atmosphere, etc. I think that's possible, though, from what I've seen so far. If they really nail the Wasteland 'flavor' I don't think I'll particularly mind if the tactical aspect of the game is a bit bare-bones. And ironically, I'm actually sort of intrigued by the supposedly more deeply layered dialogue flags they're saying will be possible as a result of choosing to minimize the voice-acting requirements.
