WoW Ganker Gets A Real Life Beating
Like all things in Mexico, even playing World of Warcraft can be spicy.

Mexico City, Mexico-(MH)-Mexican World of Warcraft player Bronco Carson reported to local police on Saturday that 3 men broke into his home and beat his arms with clubs and smashed his computer. It was supposedly in retaliation for Carson stalking and repeatedly killing one of the attackers wife’s character during computer video game play.

Carson admitted to police that he had been “making it hard for her to get far in the game.” He said that after repeated online threats from the woman, she sent her husband and friends over to his house to “take care of him.”

Wonder what the guy's repair bill was.

Thanks, Xenium.

Part of me is quite happy to hear this. There are jackasses out there in all online games... and I'll be damned if I haven't wanted to do this myself if I just knew where they lived. What makes douchebags like him enjoy being a dick to others online? Are they that much of a pansy in real life that they take pride in "owning" others in a game?

This reminds me of the end of "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back", where forum flamers get much-deserved beatdowns. Back when I used to play WoW, people like this guy used to annoy me endlessly. I can't say that I feel sorry for him in the slightest.

"Wonder what the guy's repair bill was."

I laughed at that remark for quite literally 2 minutes.

ROFL, awesome.

Wonder how long until Jack Thompson starts demonising WoW too. Eheh, pun intended.

Carson suffered 2 broken fingers and a fractured wrist during the assault. They also destroyed his computer and entertainment center before leaving.

Yeah. It's funny and all, but the kid still had thousands of dollars worth of personal property destroyed, in addition to the bodily harm incurred. I'm more startled by the retaliation over some simple corpse-camping.
AmosVT: Meh... Karma is a bitch. ;)

I've been thinking about this for a while, and I am confused about something. If he was ganking this girl, they were obviously not both playing the same side. Since Horde and Alliance can't talk to each other, how the hell did he tell her his address then? I suppose he could have talked to her on the forums or something, but then it would be even easier for her to ignore him.

I feel bad for the poor dude, stalking and repeatedly killing anyone ingame is simply part of a game.. see this is why women shouldn't be allowed to play games, if they have to much free time on their hands stick them in a kitchen, or laundry room, or send them to water the lawn, anything besides allowing them to play "certain" games.

Stalking, killing, cheating, camping, and other elements such as those are essential to gaming, especially online gaming.. the only aggravation I get being online comes from cheaters, but then I feel bad for them so it all works out.. if you can't take the heat, get the fuck off internet gaming.
  Stick!: hear hear!
NiteX May 04 2007, 03:12 am EDT
Even though I would never do something annoying and gay like that to people in online games if someone broke into my home I would have the shotgun under the pillow. I would not hesitate to blow their fucking head off if any bastards attempt to fuck up my shit. But, then again the dude kinda deserved it.
Terminator May 04 2007, 03:46 am EDT
While I hate to admit it, I understand the woman's actions. I've run into far too many a-holes like this guy online, trash talking and killing my characters every chance they get. I can't tell you how much I wanted to bash their heads in, if only I had known their address. These a-holes are all so big and tough online, but it never occurs to them that their victims might retaliate in real life. It was only a matter of time until something like this happend, this jerk is just lucky that the men didn't kill his sorry butt! I'm sorry, but this arrogant online jerk will get NO sympathy from me!
Supcic May 04 2007, 04:08 am EDT
old news and it's fake
topher May 04 2007, 04:09 am EDT
We should just save the beating and burn him at the stake
moopcow May 04 2007, 04:42 am EDT
What supcic said, fake and old. Game-revolution explains it here:

He was obviously stupid enough to give an address out, so it's his fault.
Cheddar May 04 2007, 02:28 am EDT
"Bronco Carson" is just way too amusing a name to be true.
antonphd May 05 2007, 11:46 am EDT
Sure, it was 'wrong' to beat up this guy. But if this kind of asshole behavoir were happening in a game in person. If someone fucked with my wife like that. I would pound their ass. I wouldn't trash their shit though. But online assfuckers deserve ass kicking plain and simple. They don't deserve vandalism or to be fucking killed. Shit. But an ass beating sounds pretty fair to me.
stooge4444 May 05 2007, 12:03 pm EDT
There's always a way to give an ass-beating without resorting to violence...you just gotta think outside the box...

And, goddamn, it's just a game...

rawr May 05 2007, 08:56 am EDT
First off... There have been multiple links saying this is not true. Why the hell are people still talking about it as if it were?

And second, if something like this had really happened, nobody should fucking deserve a real life beating just because he corpse camped in a GAME. Pussy people who complain about corpse camping should just fucking play on a pve server. If all their friends are playing on a pvp server, they should be aware that they WILL be corpse camped at some point... Jesus Christ.
tommo May 06 2007, 05:44 am EDT
You WOW fans are sad. Support my right to shits and giggles as i greedily whore up free XP!!

These kinds of activities have always sucked and have always put a lot of people off online games, because the immersion is ruined when you do it.
