ZeniMax Owns Prey Rights

03:10 pm EDT @ September 08th, 2009

ZeniMax Media -- they own id Software and developer Bethesda Softworks -- has now acquired the rights to the Prey shooter franchise. ZeniMax hasn't made any official announcements yet, albeit superannutation got hold of a document, which shows Radar Group transferring ownership to ZeniMax in July.
As it happens, ZeniMax registered the Prey trademark for games, books, movies and television shows.
Well, I imagine this means we'll be getting an official announcement for the acquisition pretty soon, along with a no doubt imminent announcement of a sequel to Prey. Keep your shirt on, we'll post more info on this as soon as we have it.

i thought everybody knew Prey 2 was in the works a long time ago.
problem is, development is about as efficient as growing a coconut tree.....it'll take a while.
Some people really hated on Prey, but personally, I loved the game, and played it through like 3 times, iirc. Great level design. Good pacing. Varied (and thus interesting) gameplay.
I look forward to the sequel. As far as I know, Human Head Studios is still the primary developer, so that's a good thing.
