These three maps gave us an excellent idea of some of the visual delicacies we'll be able to behold in Battlefield Vietnam. One of the most essential changes to the maps and areas are seen in the rich foliage of Vietnam and, of course, in the obvious effort the developers invested into the new soldier models as well as vehicle models.

Apparently, the whole thing runs smoothly with the old engine code, while the developers also used parts of the same network code. Let us hope the game doesn't inherit technical issues exhibited during crowded online matches in previous BF games. Naturally, the game won't be tested properly until it goes online... Well anyway, DICE still has plenty of time to put things in order before the game's launch.
Don't know about you lot, but our entire staff is eager about this one and I can safely say we all have faith in DICE and their design skills. Last time around, the team at Digital Illusions proved their talents by creating a game with an open-ended gameplay and tons of features that assured countless hours of unmatched multiplayer gaming. Even at its early stage there's no doubt that Battlefield Vietnam will do justice to its highly regarded predecessor. We turn our eyes to early 2004 (or March 2004 to be exact) when EA promised to launch the game. Keep your fingers crossed... and your eyes peeled for more info as we get it.

| How do the weapons feel? As much as I like BF1942/Desert Combat, the infantry weapons do'nt feel quite right to me. I can't put my finger on exactly what's wrong with them, but they do'nt have much umph and it's almost as if hte sounds are slightly out of sync and they shoot too fast, and...I just can't explain it. | ||

| Yeah BF1942 is far from perfect when it comes to soldier combat, if feels very wrong in many ways and so doe the vehicles, especialy the fast moving jeeps and the like, the gravity is fucked up. everything feels much lighter then they should and thus do not create that feel of reality and danger, fuck imagine a REAL Tiger tank approaching, the ground shakes as it's coming at you crushing everything underneath it and then the canon turns slowly with that metal sound, ughghhh BF1942 is all about as easy vehicle play as you can get, hope UT2k4 fixed this. |

MenDAKE: You're probably right about the vehicles, but difference bet... | ||
