Another unique feature is that if a hero falls in combat, and no one they are with can revive them, they are teleported to the closest medical center. Instead of having the player's stats stunted for a time period as in other games, the hero incurs a debt for the revival. When the hero returns to the streets to dispatch bad guys, part of his normal experience reward goes to pay off this debt. Once the debt is paid ff, all of the experience goes towards the hero's next level. It's an interesting alternative to the death penalty in other games
Currently City of Heroes has a release date of April 28th so the beta is rapidly drawing to a close. Cryptic Studios will soon learn if their dreams of living a comic book adventure are shared by a large percentage of the gaming community.
Frankly the 28th cannot arrive soon enough. While I will be the first to admit that I look damn good in this body suit, it keeps trying to make my butt crack its own Fortress of Solitude if you know what I mean. I need some super strength talcum powder now. (That's why real super heroes wear their underwear on the outside -Ed.)
