Unlike other strategies, Company of Heroes puts forth an interesting concept for resource gathering. In order to gain the advantage over your opponents, it's often a good idea to explore the surrounding area and capture certain strategic points on the map. Once you do that, you'll be able to exploit additional resources to help you win the battle. Sadly, at this point, specifics on the method of resource gathering remain hidden, but we hope that the development team will soon divulge more info on that. Given also the fact that CoH is an action-based RTS it is most likely that Relic will use the same method of resource "gathering" as in their Warhammer RTS.

In case you were wondering, the single-player campaign doesn't allow you to control Axis troops.
As far as the multiplayer portion of the game goes, both Axis and Allied forces will be playable. Multiplayer matches were designed for 2-8 players and can be played via LAN or Internet. As you'd expect, each side will have specific abilities and advantages that can turn the course of a battle.
One thing I've come to appreciate about Relic is the fact that they prefer to take time with their project and stay focused no matter how impatient gaming masses get. It's obvious they are damn serious about what they are doing and are determined to create an engaging and convincing WW II RTS. After all, these fellas already brought us games like Homeworld, Impossible Creatures and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. According to them, Company of Heroes will be the best strategy they made yet.
Here's hoping.
