As for the enemies, not a lot is known about them yet, but they do include several large, powerful, demonic creatures - you know, such as the ones that typically inhabit your neighborhood. What should be mentioned as a great addition is the inclusion of 'helpful' NPCs that will sometimes join you in your anti-demonic crusade, while helping them may secure their willingness to aid you in your mission later on in the game. The great level of interactivity and authenticity gained by this definitely makes the game more engaging and exciting... Now we only have to wait and see how it will work in practice.
Hellgate: London, Roper's first game since he left Blizzard, uses an in-house built engine and also features a multiplayer mode, with support for 16 to 32 players. And it's bound to appear sometime in 2006, along with two other game titans - Oblivion and NWN2. If I may paraphrase Oscar Wilde, now I understand the importance of being absolutely devoid of any social life. And carrying a big gun, of course.
