What this goes to show is that, unlike so many other RTS games, JTF does leave room for bona fide military tactics. This makes the game a lot more fun and engaging than your average run-of-the-mill RTS.

Those guys in the Middle East throw the best parties. Look at all the fireworks.

Helicopter on helicopter action?

Finally, while the sound effects clearly weren't all in place, the 3D code looked absolutely stunning. You can drive your Humvees over any sort of terrain and destructible obstacles, breathing new life into the battlefield. The real-time shadows and lighting look amazing, and the level of details on the characters is exceptional. Aesthetically speaking, JTF just looks good, whether you are zoomed out or in close up view.

The game is still a bit rough around the edges technically speaking, but the potential is more than evident.

A playable demo of JTF is coming on Aug. 22, so you'll have a chance to check whether what you read here makes any sense or not. As far as I'm concerned, I'm looking forward to playing the final product as based on current developments on the home front, I will not be enjoying any "hands on" time with the wife for quite some time. So a RTS like Joint Task Force is just the thing.
