» All About Medal of Honor: Airborne on ActionTrip

A weapon upgrade system also makes its first appearance in the MoH series. This addition relates to the modifications and upgrades real-life soldiers performed on their own weapons during combat in WWII. MoH: Airborne offers a handy compensator for the Thompson machine gun, which increases your accuracy. Another possibility is to obtain a forward pistol grip to the Thompson, which upgrades the gun to carry a 50 round magazine. However, using upgrades involves a minimum proficiency rating. That means you'll have to use certain weapons as often as possible, in order to gain the necessary proficiency for the upgrade. Furthermore, your character needs to stumble upon the actual upgrade located in dropped supply bundles. Once you have all of this, it will be possible to apply the upgrade to your weapon.

EA LA revealed that the development team is using greatly modified version of Unreal Engine 3. We haven't seen much gameplay action (aside from a few trailers and brief footage), but judging from the media released up to now, characters look and act a lot more realistic than in any other WW II game on the market. The environments and the atmosphere altogether have been perked up a great deal, to fit into the inevitable wave of upcoming next-gen action games.

As it stands, Medal of Honor: Airborn has a number of potential features that should leave a decent enough impact on the scene of worn-out WWII-inspired shooters. Even though, we are getting a bit tired of the Word War II setting ourselves, this one could seriously move FPS combat up a notch. In place of the old run-and-gun recipe, the developers are going with a more choice-driven environment, which is okay in our book.

Currently, we do know that Moh: Airborne also features a multiplayer mode that's going to encompass approximately 7 maps and may support 12-15 players. Multiplayer gameplay is primarily Death-match focused, but I'm afraid that's all the info we have on the subject for the time being.

We're hoping to fetch more details on the game in the coming months, so be on the watch for further updates.
