Nice.
As for the third-person perspective, the developers clarified that this was incorporated to go along with the game's basic cover system. In addition, it offers better orientation for your character, making it a lot easier to navigate and plan out his next move.
The multiplayer is going to support Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, with multiplayer games most likely supporting up to 12 players online (maybe even 16, if technically possible). There's a bit of bad news on the horizon though. Multiplayer devotees may not appreciate the fact that Guerilla won't feature online co-op. Sure, it may a bit too much to expect at this point, but it would've definitely made a cool addition to the core game.
Volition may be onto something unique with Red Faction: Guerrilla, providing what appears to be a rather intriguing mix of open-world gameplay mechanics and good old-fashioned destruction. However, we're not entirely blown away at this stage by the game's setting and story. Also, by the time the game hits stores, it'll have to face serious competition - Battlefield: Bad Company and LucasArts' somewhat similar terra-deforming action game, Fracture.
Expect RF: Guerrilla on the market in THQ's fiscal '09 (which runs from April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009).
