Character models look convincing enough and we're impressed with the way the designing team handled those vehicles. Surrounded by constant explosions, collisions, and gunfire, you'll be able to witness some pretty impressive 3D effects: natural looking dynamic lighting, complex particle effects, etc.
Wings Simulations clearly went all out for this game. Judging from everything we've seen so far, Soldner appears to be evolving at a great pace, showing off some serious potential as a top-notch FPS. The game's February launch will give it a proper headstart... before the boys at DICE and EA come forth with their multiplayer "daemon" Battlefield Vietnam. We must remember though, that Battlefield 1942 has an ever-growing community of fans all around the world. In short, it's going to be an exciting contest between the two. (With all due respect, Encore will have a tough time competing against EA and DICE, and that's putting it mildly. For Soldner, it will all come down to how polished and well executed the game is at the time it hits retail. Given their projected release date they could garner a decent following before people start going nuts over BF: Vietnam; that's assuming DICE doesn't colossally screw things up somehow, which is really an unlikely scenario. - Ed.)
