Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles Preview

To recap, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is one of Nintendo's flagship titles for the new Zapper peripheral, along with games like Ghost Squad and Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. The developers promised the game is going to feature around 15-20 hours of gameplay.

Dedicated RE fans are getting a few extras, such as unlocking a wide choice of collectibles, usually referring to memorable characters, events and items from the RE franchise - sort of a Resident Evil Museum, if you will.

The Wii Zapper compatibility seems like a good way of teasing people into buying the game. In fact, that's what Nintendo is counting on. Regardless, the classic free-floating Wii-mote should be more than adequate to handle what this game has to offer.

There's a growing concern, however, that the game may not live up to expectations. In spite of Capcom's intention to deliver an engaging action-packed horror game, recent builds of Umbrella Chronicles reportedly suffered from bugs that could potentially ruin the experience, such as frame-rate drops and issues concerning model damage, which isn't exactly as accurate as it should be. Throughout the months, the developers tweaked some of these issues and we're hoping they properly polish things up before release.
