Word just reached us that Jordan Mechner, the creator and owner of the Prince of Persia video game franchise, filed a trademark for "Prince of Persia Prodigy" in relation to “game software and electronic game programs; electronic game software for mobile phones, personal digital assistants, and handheld computers.”

Mechner is also participating the creation of a Prince of Persia movie, which is currently in pre-production.

Ubisoft still refuses to divulge any info on the next PoP game. The only thing that's known is that the company plans to release it by the end of its current fiscal year.
