Mass Effect Comic Announced

BioWare and Dark Horse Comics announced a new comic book series based on Mass Effect. In Mass Effect: Redemption, the story takes readers through "the treacherous events leading up to Mass Effect 2 which opens with galactic hero Commander Shepard having mysteriously gone missing and left to fight for survival. What unfolds next will expose readers to new locations, aliens and extended storyline in the Mass Effect universe."

Mass Effect: Redemption is scheduled to launch in January 6, 2010.

“Fans of Mass Effect are going to be pleasantly shocked by the events in these comics,” says Mac Walters. “We worked very closely with Dark Horse to make sure this story was built in to the Mass Effect 2 arc, right from the ground up. Reading the series won’t just add to your experience of the universe, it will change the way you look at Mass Effect 2… and beyond.”

I must admit, I like the term "pleasantly shocked." Is that the kind of ride you're looking for?

Here's your Mass Effect comic!

Ah, sweet Mass Effect. A gem of a game.

There is no "gem of a game." There's only pessimism.
Superastic [mail] Jul 22 2009, 06:49 am EDT
Fuck pessimists. I bury those cockroaches.
Vader [STAFF] [mail] Jul 22 2009, 06:53 am EDT
Funny, you look nothing like Tony Montana.
Superastic [mail] Jul 22 2009, 06:52 am EDT
Tony who?

There are way too many freakish smiles on this comment page.

Colgate, for a perfect smile.

I grew out of the comic-book phase a long time ago. Keep the comics, give me the games.

You don't deserve to enjoy Mass Effect 2 and your mother will stop loving you, if you don't buy the comics - added a Bioware representative.

If you don't buy the Mass Effect Collector's Edition, you'll soon be hit by an asteroid.

A gay asteroid...

I just needed to break up this real face parade.

Why must you ruin everything beautiful?
Breedy_Mcfluff [mail] Jul 22 2009, 01:49 am EDT
Haha, that's quite funny.

I fucking hate this side shit. I wanna play game/watch TV show/watch movie/ read a book, not worry about other shit made to milk some money from me.I want all the story in the things itself and not a freaking sidecomics.
Terminator [mail] Jul 22 2009, 07:04 am EDT
I went though this shit with the new Star Trek movie too. There is a Star Trek comic book that explains much of Nero's history, including his time spent behind bars at a Klingon Prison. Why JJ Abrams couldn't put this into Star Trek movie is beyond me, who cares if the movie goes another 30 mins!

I actually liked this AT comic, for once.

I'm not sure what it says about me that I find the thought of Krogan anal rape to be amusing, but I'm trying my best to not examine that too closely.

Sooner or later you're going to surrender yourself to the power of curiosity.
