EA Sells 2 Mil. Copies of Harry Potter
Announcing its financial results from Q1 2008, EA boasts a gross profit of USD 229 million. Not bad, but still not good enough, according to EA.

Net revenue for the quarter was USD 395 million, down four percent compared to the prior year sales of USD 413 million. Net loss for the quarter was USD 132 million, compared with a net loss of USD 81 million for the prior year.

Company sales were driven by Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which, as reported, sold two million copies in one week. Additional sales were marked, including sales of Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, The Sims 2: Pets, Need for Speed: Carbon and The Sims 2.

Bear in mind that EA changed the release date for Crysis to November, as opposed to the previously announced September deadline. They also plan to shift the release date of their latest FIFA game, from the last week of Q2 to the first week of Q3.

Not necessarily. Kids love Harry Potter. And you already know that.

It's not Harry Potter itself that is the problem (although it's certainly faggoty), it's that the game is terrible.

J.K. Rowling must die.
Harry Potter stimulates the young mind my ass, the pretty bottle always hides the deadliest of toxins.

4 words for any HP fan out there: see you in hell.

I don't get it. The net loss was $132 and the gross profit $229. Huh? Now which is it? Did they make an overall loss or a profit?
