Beta Test MMO Dancing Game
Like some mild rash, Acclaim just refuses to go away. It's all good though, as their upcoming free MMOG project is a real gem (sort of interesting really, for real). It's called DANCE! and it's (yep you've guessed it) a Massively Multiplayer Online dancing game! They've started taking sign ups for beta testing.

The game won't have a subscription-based revenue model and will instead support itself through in game ads and selling in game items to players. Interestingly, former head of Shiny Entertainment, Dave Perry, is the development director on this project.

By keeping in sync with the beat, players will be able to perfect their dancing skills that range from basic steps to the wildest club-style dance moves with amazing choreography. And all to the beat of their favorite tracks since DANCE! will also feature chart topping hits from the hottest music artists in the world. Music will be available in a variety of styles and genres offering something for every music fan.

As a multiplayer online game, players can also make new friends and compete in battles to see who can keep up. They can even go back and replay their own dance music video. One of the more unique aspects of the game is the couples system. In DANCE!, male and female characters can find their perfect mate, fall in love, enter couples competitions, and even get married.

This project is not without potential. That's all I will say.

Just read this the second time over today, and I noticed something...

It says "Male and Female characters", so I'm assuming male/male and female/female aren't allowed. Owned.
