The third installment in the popular shooter series Far Cry (know owned and
developed by Ubisoft), has been confirmed. The conformation comes from an interview
published by Official PlayStation Magazine (thanks CVG).
Indeed, Far Cry 3 is in development and looking "pretty exciting," as revealed by an Ubisoft scriptwriter to OPM.
Well, Far Cry 2 was okay and an interesting shift compared to Crytek's original game. However, I only hope they dispense with those generic side-missions and ever-respawning baddies scattered all over the map.

| It was a real shame that they screwed up Far Cry 2, the setting and engine etc. was really promising. But no, you just had to spend hours taking out checkpoints with respawning enemies, over, and over, and over again. | ||

| Yea its like Marku5K said, the atmosphere, voice acting, storyline etc was great, the gameplay was too repetitive. I'm hyped for the next one though if ubi put the same size team on it, it should be out soon (maybe end next year) | ||

| I see I wasn't the only one who didn't finish Far Cry 2. It just got so repetitive, and the respawning bad guys made it seem like I wasn't making any progress. This is the only game in over 15 years of PC gaming that I've started with the intention of finishing, but giving up because I couldn't bring myself to keep playing (there were 2 or 3 that got too hard, but none that I got bored of). Usually I keep trudging away just to say finished it, but I couldn't bring myself to do that with FC2. I wasn't a big fan of the first one either, but I thought the second one had promise. It had a lot of nice features, and having a lot of freedom in taking out a target was fun. But that didn't save the game from getting boring. | ||

| FarCry 2 is flawed, but still fucking amazing.I spent about 50 hours in that Africa and loved every second.But I admit there are huge flaws that, while I could live with them, others could not.I hope Ubi will build on the foundation set by first game, but introduce more RPG elements and less respawning.Slower voiceacting, leaning and proning, ability to toggle aiming and introducing flashlight would also help. | ||

| FAR CRY should be pirated, then played for two minutes, than put on your shelf, than look at it, say fuck this, throw it in the garbage, then light it on fire, then piss it out, then force vomit on it, then light it up again, then start swearing at it, saying things like you fucking bitch, your only good for afew minutes, and to be honest the few minutes weren't really that good. Than you pray to god to forgive you for wasting your money on a shitty game. | ||
