Eidos Montreal did mention recently that Deus Ex 3 will be more like the original, although this may not necessarily mean it could be a PC exclusive.
"Deus Ex 3 is going to be the first project which will be a concrete product of joint effort between Square Enix and Eidos," says Eidos Montreal's Stephane D'Astous. "The cinematics—by which I mean any CGI pre-rendered cinematics — are going to be done in Tokyo by Square Enix, and that's going to be amazing."

| I'll be interesting to see how it can beat Deus Ex 1's story which in my opinion is still to be best by any recent pc games. | ||

| "due to the complexity of the game", I like that phrase! I'm interested. But I doubt it could live up to Deus Ex 1, I replayed it earlier this year, and it's still just.. amazing. After a short while, I didn't even think about the graphics anymore, the atmosphere just sucked me in. Great game. |

| The actual quote from the article is: "It has been confirmed that the game is a cyberpunk prequel to the first game though and Eidos has previously hinted that it might not be getting a console release due to the complexity of the game." Cyberpunk prequel: confirmed No console release: previously hinted Bit-tech does reference an article about the pc-only release, but it's a Shacknews article from October 2008. Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but it would be nice if you actually clicked the links other news sites had instead of just copying their stories blindly. |

| If square enix makes the cinematics it's gonna be great, they are the best when it comes to CGI content. I mean just look at the cinematics of Final Fantasy 8 which were made in '98, way ahead of it's time. I have a feeling that this would be the best game of the decade. | ||
Vodoo: totally, cinematics is what makes games GREAT. Alchi: What about blizzard? I like their CGI clips a lot more. PainZero: Yes, blizzard has made decent cinematics so far, but in the ... Amok: Blizzard. BmmB: What PainZero said. Also, Square Enix already did absolutell... | ||

| No matter how much i am loving this bit of news, i also feel saddened because in this market, a game will not get the mileage unless and until it is coming for the consoles. It won't be as successful either because a large portion of the gamers are now console gamers and they will not consider getting a better PC for this game when they can easily skip it for something else that will be available. | ||

| Let's hope that it'll be better than the second game. | ||

| i strongly believe that this story is a marketing issue of showing how much Eidos cares about PC gamers. do they care - that's another story, but PC-only probably won't bring too much of revenue (at least not nowadays, if we're not talking about pay-to-play MMOs of sorts). still, if they're going to keep the story tight, as they did with the first release, we may be looking on a nice quality game. |

| Hmm not sure if I'm liking SE doing the CGI. I love SE, but their style is nothing like what is needed for a Deus Ex game. | ||

| They want to make this game PC only, and lose all that Console money? I've gotta see this before I believe it. | ||
| Nameinuse | [mail] Nov 26 2009, 11:57 am EST | |
| Maybe they could make it for the PC and port it to consoles 6 months after the PC release. It would also give the publishers more time for hype. EDIT: I think you meant "quit" not "quite" |

| @Nameinuse unreal3 was also ported from the PC, and u know how many console games use that ;) and consoles generally suck. |

| "It has been confirmed that the game is a cyberpunk prequel to the first game though and that it won't be getting a console release due to the complexity of the game," Please, let this be true. Let them deliver a master piece worthy of being another's prequel. |

| I didn't get into Deus Ex until I played it on the console, mind you it was sadly the sequel (I forget...wasn't that memorable) but after a bit of research I picked it up off of Steam. Only problem I have no is playing it offline (for some reason my laptop tends to be glitch and its the only one that connects to the internet, not my main PC) Still, I kinda hope it is consolized so more people can pick up on the series. |

| Many Deus Ex and Deus Ex 2 were some of my fave games I've ever played. It will definitely be different playing the prequel though, EVEN more development and backstory from the first one would be great. This is a series that one can bite into, and never fully sink their teeth in, there's sooo much going on, such depth. Phenomenal, I was however hoping to elaborate more with the Omar, and it being a prequel...i doubt that will happen. |

| Deus Ex 1 sounds interesting. I wish they'd rerelease it, a la Serious Sam HD. I have 1680x1500 screen and XP -- not interested if it's not widescreen or won't work with XP. My loss. |
