Ailin Graef--who is better known by the name Anshe Chung--works as a real estate
developer... in the MMORPG Second Life.
Starting with around $10 bucks, she amassed a fortune of $1,000,000 Linden dollars
(in game currency), becoming the first Second Life millionaire.
Now if you're wondering how much her virtual fortune is worth in real life, I can tell you that the answer is $3,636.36 US dollars.
Definitely good publicity for the game. Although buying and selling real estate in a video game doesn't seem like a very fun pass time to me. Then again, I used to spend hours killing worms that look like larvae on steroids just so that I could make a single in game item. Which makes me and about 7 million other players total tools.
Oh and now for the WoW-flavored punchline. Ailin Graef was born and raised in China.

They report that she has way more Linden $ than you say, and it is equivelent to over a million US $. She is actually a millionaire for real. She has employed a team of programers to "develop" the properties, its a full on business. | ||
