Slightly Disappointing GTA IV PC Sales
It seems that the heavy competition on the PC market was a bit too much for the poorly optimized PC edition of Rockstar's action adventure Grand Theft Auto IV. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King and Spore are still the top selling PC releases, as shown in NPD's sales chart cover best-selling PC games at US retailers between November 30 and December 6.

1. World Of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Blizzard
2. Spore - EA Maxis
3. The Sims 2 Deluxe - EA Maxis
4. Call Of Duty: World At War - Treyarch
5. Fallout 3 - Bethesda
6. The Sims 2 Apartment Life Exp. Pack - EA Maxis
7. Grand Theft Auto IV - Rockstar Games
8. Left 4 Dead - Valve
9. Far Cry 2 - Ubisoft Montreal
10. The Sims 2 Mansion & Garden Stuff Exp. - EA Maxis

Bethesda's Fallout 3 and Treyarch's CoD: World at War are doing pretty good, while EA continues to dominate charts with its The Sims franchise.

Beaten out by games that actually work properly. It's a shame that there's enough uninformed people out there for it to sell this well in the first place.

C'mon, Rockstar. What happened?

They're too busy boozing and swimming in cash.

crappy port + lazy customer support = poor sales
i think R* knows this.

It's a shame that performance issues are keeping some people from enjoying such a great game (it works pretty well on my PC). Hopefully Rockstar will fix most people's issues with further patching.

I wonder how many people are actually having problems with it? It's always impossible to tell something like this, because a vocal minority seems like a majority.

I've actually purchased every Rockstar game ever sold for the PC and enjoyed the crap out of them all. Until GTA IV. I actually returned it to the store for a refund. On the lowest detail settings and lowest resolution the benchmark pulled 17FPS, while I run Fallout 3 glass smooth with everything maxed. This is with and without the patch, and with and without the recommended NVIDIA drivers.

Plus, having to go through both LIVE and the Social Club to play the game cheeses me off. I'm playing GTA to be ANTIsocial, dammit...I don't need their multiplayer crap.

Someone has to bomb out whichever EA department is churning out The Sims filth.
Bloody poison in the industry.

Look on the bright side. At least Nancy Drew is out of the top ten.

They should do the same thing, that was done with the Witcher. Take some extra time and make it right.

A TREYARCH CoD is selling well? What has the world come to?

GTA 4 is over rated and half-finished game, I'm gonna buy it in like a couple of months if by that time it gets playable. Seriously though selling crap that doesnt work is like a spit in customers face, they lucky to get in the top 10.
