Any Director at this point will be better than Lucas.
And the books are garbage, btw. No, seriously. Speaking as someone who actually does read religiously, they're just one step away from amateur-level fan-fiction. Are they better than Lucas' writing for the prequels? Yeah, probably. But is that really saying anything?
Star Wars novels are like the Dragonlance of sci-fi. (you probably don't know anything about Dragonlance, but on the off-chance that you do... you'll see my point)
Besides, it's not like they crank out a new Star Wars every year. We haven't had Star Wars in a long time. I say bring episode 7 on :)
This shit's gonna be almost as disappointing for the 'purists' as the prequels, mark me.
Haven't you all realized by now that Harrison Ford and James Earl Jones basically carried the original movies on their backs?
