Batman: Arkham Asylum is a gorgeous-looking game. It shows off a captivating, cinematic quality we rarely see in video games. In terms of graphics and overall design, Batman: Arkham Asylum accompanies titles like Gears of War 2, Resident Evil 5, Mass Effect and other visually impressive games. Adding further to the immersion are the first-rate sound effects, amazing soundtrack and excellent voiceovers, provided by a terrific cast (Mark Hamil, Ron Perlman, etc.).

![]() Ouch... |
The game adequately compensates for its lack of multiplayer with quite a lot of additional content such as story-related character bios and interview tapes, as well as challenge mods, which are unlocked by completing Riddler's challenges.
Combining Splinter Cell-like stealth gameplay with great combat and spicing things up with a motivating plot, should be enough of a reason for you to give it a looksy. In fact, there are so many good things I'd like to add about this game, but I'm not going to. You just need to try it yourselves.
Eidos Interactive invested into the right team. Rocksteady Studios damn-nearly astonished us with this one. We expected it to be a decent summer action game. In all fairness, we never expected it to be this much fun. Batman: Arkham Asylum outshines every game we've seen this year (so far). It's also solid Game of the Year material and has a strong potential as a new game license. Let's hope they don't milk it dry... what am I saying, of course they will.
![]() 9.2 Excellent Batman: Arkham Asylum takes us out of the dry gaming summer, serious GoTY candidate, an engaging cinematic experience with addictive, well-balanced gameplay; Minor collision and physics problems (emphasizing "minor"), certain gadgets should've been available earlier on in the game, bloody thing has an ending. since playing the demo. Nice review =)
though still enjoying wolfenstein. Worth a point more than you gave it I think. Pretty darn slick shooter.
