If memory serves, we’ve spent many days playing with the PC edition of Diablo 3 (actually, quite a lot, now that I think about it). Eventually, having gone through almost the entire game on ‘Inferno’ difficulty, it felt like we’ve pretty much had enough. Diablo 3’s incredibly addictive mechanics, along with a rather satisfying loot system, just made us dive back into the game again and again. Personally, the only thing that, eventually, made me stop was the lack of satisfying single-player content and a rather bland and predictable narrative. Yes, the storyline in Diablo 3 is okay, as long as you’re content with watching those delicious Blizzard-made cinematics – and they are truly epic, as always. Otherwise, the whole thing just begs for more depth, more explanations and more characterization. Naturally, Diablo 3 360 has the same plot structure as on the PC, so don’t expect anything new there.

The story starts as you return to the town of Tristram (where the previous two games kicked off as well). Creepy undead entities crawl out of the darkness attacking the citizens of Tristram and you find yourself in the middle of a battle. You first quest is to take out a powerful undead witch, monster, thing and so on and so on. You get the gist of it and if you don’t, try your best.
While things are very much the same in terms of content (same story, same character classes, etc.), players who are familiar with the PC version should notice two major differences straight away. To begin with, there is no auction house. But I guess that doesn’t matter much, seeing as Blizzard killed off the auction house for the PC edition as well. Hm, so I guess that doesn’t count as a difference now. Bollocks! Anyway, what’s definitely a difference is that players aren’t required to be online in order to play the single-player portion of the game. So, yeah, there’s an offline mode, which is a plus, of course.
Blizzard also incorporated a variety of changes to specific skills and drops. For instance, drops are now compatible with class you’re playing with, so you won’t be marching back to town crammed with unusable unique items. In addition, legendary items and such will be popping up more often, to help you build up your hero faster than before. Furthermore, I give the developers a lot of credit for making the 360 version so easy to play. The controls work smoothly and practically without a hitch. The GUI was re-polished and optimized to suit consoles. Skills and the inventory are all available at the touch of a button.
Unfortunately, the console edition does retain some of the flaws from the PC version. If you’re playing solo, henchmen, for instance, feel useless and they die quite easily. The choices for their skills and equipment are very limited, so you won’t find much fun there. In fact, the only benefit from using henchmen is that you occasionally get to hear them rant about the action that’s taking place on screen – that’s usually pointing out the obvious like: “Oh look, an Elite monster we have to kill to get some cool loot.” Well, maybe not like that, but in similar fashion. Now and again, they tell a brief amusing tale, but that’s about it.
Visually, Diablo 3 on consoles is almost as sharp and pretty as its PC counterpart. The same goes for the brilliant audio design, including the kick-ass soundtrack and the brilliant sound effects.

Ah, finally, some proper loot on the way!
Initially, I played a significant portion of the game offline, just because, well I could, and that’s something I wasn’t allowed to do on PC. But, as one would I assume, I just couldn’t wait to jump into some decent coop fun. Diablo 3 is considerably more pleasing if you go after those numerous hordes of baddies with friends. The only real complaint we can think of in this department relates to the local cooperative mode, which limits the game for players. To explain this a bit more; when you are fiddling around with your inventory and skills, other players can just sit there and wait until your finished (Hm, don’t know why, but it reminds me of my marriage). Otherwise, the coop modes, both local and online, are as fun as this game can get, and trust me when I say this, you’ll most likely spend hours chopping down monsters with a friend and the urge to go back into the game is stronger than most co-op-oriented titles out there.
The amazing thing is that no matter how much I’ve played Diablo 3 on the PC (and it was a lot, believe me), it was just tremendously entertaining on the Xbox 360, even though I knew what to expect around every corner. Same enemies, same environment, same bloody story. Still, none of that shit matters, because all the foes you kill and the areas you explore are extremely diverse and wonderful to look at. In short, it doesn’t matter if you’ve seen it all before, you’ll still enjoy the hell out of it.

Smooth and almost flawless gameplay that's still hellishly addictive (almost diabolically, in fact), a game you'll enjoy from start to finish and you'll probably start playing it again once you're done, plenty of class-specific loot awaits this time around;
It's been a long time since the PC version and still no fresh content, they could've at least put a new class in; interface issues in local co-op.
