LucasArts and developer Day 1 Studio have scratched the surface of what could have been a pretty decent franchise, if only they avoided the mind-numbing shoot-jump-reload-and-shoot-again syndrome.
Packed in a universe resembling every other sci-fi game on the market, Fracture is neither original nor groundbreaking. It's a fairly polished product and you might want to rent it if you have absolutely nothing better to do and you're looking for an average shooter to complete very quickly. Although, in terms of gameplay and story presentation, it delivers precious little.
Contrary to this, there's plenty of fun to be found in a variety of multiplayer modes that allow up to 12 players to battle it out in 8 unique maps.
The terrain deformation, a few cool weapons and the multiplayer salvage this from being complete junk. All in all, there must be at least 100 better ways to spend 60 bucks. Personally, I can think of a few naughty things right away, but to each his own.

ACTIONTRIP SCORE 5.1 Okay Enjoyable multiplayer, a few cool weapons to toy around with; Run-of-the-mill gameplay, it's a carbon copy of most top shooters, crappy story and unoriginal design and art direction. RATINGS GUIDE |
