The game's graphics leave a great deal to be desired. The character of Iron Man is furnished with enough detail to make him look nice and shiny, whereas almost everything else on the screen looks second-rate and outdated. Most the surroundings simply cry out for more detail and richer texture patterns.
Meanwhile, the sound is pretty decent and the music fits the game's ambiance perfectly. The voiceovers are so-so, with actors Robert Downey, Jr. and Terrance Howard offering their voice talents throughout the game's main campaign.
I honestly see very little reason why anybody should bother with another below-average movie-based video game; particularly one as lame as Iron Man. There are certain elements in the combat that make the game fun and appealing, but only for a short while. Everything else is more or less a letdown.
Much to our discontent, Iron Man joins the long list of crappy movie tie-ins, sinking lower than Treyarch's Spider-Man 3 and even lower than Shiny's Enter the Matrix.
Again, I haven't seen the movie, so I cannot advise you to watch it. All I can say is stick to the comics, if you haven't read them already, but do your best to avoid this game.

ACTIONTRIP SCORE 3.4 Don't Bother Suit upgrades are a nice touch; combat has its fun moments, decent sound; Weird AI behavior, erratic camera and lousy controls, repetitive level design, boring mission structure, could've looked better, ultimately disappointing gameplay. RATINGS GUIDE |
