As much as the AI can be smart, it can be quite dimwitted. In one segment of the game, I fought against a tower archer, who managed to shove me over the edge until I fell off the tower. Pushing me from the edge was smart, but following me into the abyss wasn't. Being the super-human, kick-ass assassin, I managed to survive the fall. The guard, however, wasn't so lucky. Why didn't he just stay up on the tower and finish me off with a few arrows is beyond me.
Apart from the new content, sharper graphics and smooth controls, Assassin's Creed PC doesn't seem to offer any major improvements when compared to the console editions. The generally repetitive gameplay is still there and it's likely you won't find it enjoyable if you've already played it on the PS3 or X360.
So, exactly what is it that makes this fun to so many people, even with its underdeveloped gameplay? Well, it's easy. Most gamers will find the game's combat system rewarding, while others are bound to get immersed in the convincing setting. The exhilarating chase sequences, sword-fighting, horseback riding, making the "leap of faith," assassination missions all weave a rather compelling atmosphere. The excellent art direction, superb soundtrack, topnotch voice-overs also do the trick and help you feel part of Altair's world.
The sandbox approach in Assassin's Creed provides decent entertainment. The only question is: for how long? That would depend on your preferences, really. If the recurring mission structure doesn't bother you, this could prove to be a fun ride all the way. The story isn't brilliant, but definitely interesting enough to make you play on. But don't forget, you'll also need a powerful PC to run the game smoothly with all the visuals maxed.

ACTIONTRIP SCORE 7.8 Good Looks and sounds awesome, new missions add a much needed variety to the gameplay, decent controls; Hardware requirements exceed those of Crysis, certainly not entertaining enough if you've already played the 360 and PS3 editions, AI quirks, recurring mission structure.
