![]() 8.5 Very Good Plenty of hours of fun, comprehensive, detailed, very tactical and engaging; Path finding issues, minor fog of war issues, doesn't bring anything radically new to a pretty depleted genre. RATINGS GUIDE |

My only real gripe with Blitzkrieg 2 is the somewhat annoying path finding. Your units will not always go where you've ordered them to, or rather, they will take some bizarre ways of getting there, and this is mostly because there are a lot of "solid" details in the environment that they have to navigate around, besides the fact that they can't go through one another. This hasn't been as big of a problem as it could have been, as the really messed up situations don't happen too often, but when they do, they can be irritating and offset the fluidity of the gameplay.
Another thing I have found irksome is the way that the fog of war works. Sometimes, an unsuspecting enemy light tank will be shooting at my medium tanks from the safety of the fog of war, so that I can't immediately locate it. Now I don't know if this is because the enemy light tank has a huge terrain advantage or not, but I found it pretty frustrating to see my guys being burned to crisp by a ghost unit out of my line of sight (even though your troops handle themselves very well in general).
Overall, however, Blitzkrieg 2 is a worthy sequel to the original and an engaging tactical RTS game. The sequel is more elaborate, comprehensive and technically advanced than the original. Any WWII RTS buff will do good to buy it. I recommend the game even though I'm pretty jaded when it comes to WWII games (but not like that editor from the beginning of the text).

| Christ! I can't believe that even after all this time, these guys still haven't resolved the infamous Blitzkrieg path-finding issue... Twas always a fine RTS though. |
