Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 Review

In a nutshell, when its 'gears' are clicking, Brothers in Arms manages to deepen the shooter genre with the addition of some great tactical gameplay and relatively realistic depiction of infantry warfare. It also adds a multiplayer component and the single-player game is fairly lengthy. The interface is superb, and overall, it would be fair to say that the squad AI handles themselves really well. Sadly, the instances where the scripted sequences would break, and where AI would display signs of stupidity (just go up close to a German soldier and you'll see what I mean), ruined to a degree my personal enjoyment of the game. It might well be that during your time with the game, you will not experience any of these problems, but I find that highly unlikely. This was a very good effort by Gearbox that sadly lacked somewhat in the execution department, making it not as good as the reigning king of the genre.
