Good

HIGHS
Fun multiplayer and skirmish, new units, a vast choice of new maps, still looks good;

LOWS
Incoherent story-telling, the main campaign brings another cliff-hanger ending, same old AI glitches and path-finding bugs.

» All About Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath on ActionTrip

Global Conquest makes for a nice change of pace after the solid but relatively stale gameplay of the main single-player campaign. In Global Conquest, players get a mix of turn-based and RTS gameplay. Things are as exciting and dynamic as ever when you're playing skirmish or multiplayer. There's a new feel to the game when you get to use the new units and that should also be a cool addition for fans.

Performance-wise, things are pretty much the same as in C&C 3. It ran smoothly for the most part, with all the visual detail maxed out. Regardless of the aged engine, the game looks pleasing overall. The sound is okay and it blends well with the familiar C&C-style ambiance.

If you liked C&C 3, you're certainly gonna want to own this game and find out how the story develops. Regrettably, Kane's Wrath doesn't exactly do a good job of delivering on the kind of epic single-player experience you'd hope to get after an excellent campaign from the previous game. Bellow-average performances from some of the actors take away the authenticity. Other drawbacks, such as the presence of AI and path-finding glitches won't help either - for instance, units still get jammed between buildings and other objects.

On a more positive note, Kane's Wrath is still an engaging RTS that relies heavily on the gameplay principle of the original. There's a wide range of new maps and the Global Conquest mode does add a refreshing feel to the game. To real-time strategy buffs who liked Tiberium Wars, this is probably going to feel equally entertaining, gameplay wise. On the other hand, if you want a fulfilling story and an add-on that ties all the loose ends, Kane's Wrath will disappoint.

Dude, it's principle, not principal. A principal is someone who touches students in funny places when he calls them to his office.

Yeah, I know and "gameplay principals" are the nastiest sort :)

Loads of new units and such but bah, bah to CNC3 overall.. let's all hope that DOW2 brings new life to the genre.

Whoever took those screenshots should be beaten, shot, then shot as they are being beaten again.. those low compression shots are not worthy.
