» All About Crysis Warhead on ActionTrip

Crysis Warhead managed to inherit some technical flaws from the first game. Sometimes, AI glitches are embarrassing, with enemies jamming between rocks or other objects, nearby soldiers not noticing you at all and so on. This still doesn't mean you won't have a good time.

Missions and side-tasks are quite challenging and there's a decent array of old and new weapons to have fun with. New toys include a kick-ass six-shot grenade launcher and a powerful superweapon (which, sadly, becomes at the very end of the game). The nanosuite is as effective and useful as ever. Utilizing its amazing powers becomes a tactical advantage in almost any battle situation. It's a marvelous addition to the gameplay, as much as it was in the original.

The game boasts the addition of Crysis Wars (that comes on a separate disc), a well-devised multiplayer segment. This is a huge improvement over Crysis, featuring a selection of new maps and emphasizing team deatmatch. It may not be the best multiplayer game ever created, but it was a great deal more fun than what we were given the first time around. The cool thing about deathmatch is the inclusion of nanosuits, making things way more enjoyable for each player. In that respect, combining various powers of your suite (strength, speed, cloak, etc.) spices things up and makes you want to play for a long time.

Despite of what some of you might think, Crysis Warhead is actually a good deal, perhaps even better than Crysis. For $29.99 (which indeed is cheaper than a lot of releases today) it offers a compelling single-player ride (provided you're an "enthusiast"), new weapons and a satisfying and rather enjoyable multiplayer component. Bugs can be found here and there, such as the occasionally flawed AI, but all in all, the game seems far more polished than the previous installment.
