The longevity and the true value of HOMM 5 will be tested once throngs and hordes (pun intended) of HOMM fans get their hands on the game and start playing some multiplayer matches. If you ask me, HOMM 5 has a bright future in those regards. You simply have to have the willingness to learn and give this game a chance. If you do this, you will be rewarded with an amazing strategy experience.

Finally, the musical score (which was a big thing in HOMM 3) is somewhat underwhelming. It does get a bit repetitive after a while. On the other hand, the animation of the units during battles is excellently done, so it will be a real pleasure to watch your high-end sluggers unleash their fury on the enemy.
In its own right, Heroes of Might & Magic 5 is a good game, and it's a definite must buy for fans of the series. Even those who are new to the franchise and have an affinity for turn-based strategy games with a lot of depth should give it a try. Surely, there will be a lot of fans who will inevitably compare this iteration to the third game down to the very last detail, but there is no possible way for a group of people with one goal in mind to please everyone and their notion of the direction the series should've taken.
The good news is that Heroes of Might & Magic 5 does deliver a satisfying gaming experience. Let's hope the sales do it justice too, which would ensure that the series would live on.

ACTIONTRIP SCORE 8.5 Very Good Very challenging, deep, and addictive gameplay, mission design, unit animation, multiplayer potential, easy on your hardware; Voice acting, story lacks the needed drama, music gets repetitive, some minor camera issues in movement mode (can't scroll the map while my hero is moving - didn't find a fix for it).
