» All About Hitman: Codename 47 on ActionTrip

Prior to the initiation of each job you'll have to read your assignments and carefully consider every eventuality. You may then select your weapon arsenal for the task at hand. You won't have a lot of cash in the beginning, but do not despair. Later in the game you will earn more than you need. In the spirit of good-ol' first person sneakers, programmers have given us basically two ways of carrying out the missions. You can charge impulsively through enemy territory like Rambo, or you could achieve your objective in silence and with style - like a professional hitman. This aspect of the game deserves some recognition, along with some rather inventive ideas in terms of how you'll go about eliminating your target. The tasks seem simple at first, but you're gonna find that gradually the levels grow larger and get much more involving as you progress...

Hitman's inventory is limited to only one heavy weapon. If the enemy sentinels catch a glimpse of you carrying an AK 47 Kalashnikov, they will raise the alarm immediately. And speaking of alarms, it's necessary to avoid the enemy's attention at all cost, which means you need to use silence guns and fiber wires. If you use the loud and 'crude' AMT 1911 'Hardballer', the nearby guards will shortly become vigilant. It seemed to me that the AI was in place. Regrettably though, in some situations when you fire your gun the nearby sentry might or might not react.

One of the game's biggest flaws affecting the gameplay dynamics is the lack of the save-game option. When you begin a certain level for the twelfth time, the entire game is beginning to seem pointless. From that standpoint, Hitman: Codename 47 is simply annoying. Another aggravating factor is the stupid and confusing camera movement. You can choose one of two camera perspectives: one is the chase view just above your shoulders, and the other is almost the same only you get to move it about a bit with your mouse (very irritating at times). The enemies may sometimes see you while you do not see them because your model covers half of the screen, and before you know it, you'll turn into a series of bloodstains. Finally, I want to highlight the length of the whole game. It's TOO short. The events are divided into five chapters, which won't take you long to complete. The enemies are easily disposed off, and you'll have the game finished before you can say "Hit man". 'Then why should I waste my money on this game?

I don't wanna pay forty bucks for a pleasure which lasts one or maybe two days'. Well you cannot argue with that there, my friend. The game is short but it might still provide moments of entertaining gameplay.

Very well, not all is that bad. As I mentioned before, the visuals sound effects and gameplay concepts are great, yet the length of the game will surely make this product less popular than other FPS sneaker games like NOLF and the Thief series.

HIGHS
A visually striking environment with good sound effects as well as superb music in the background;

LOWS
The game could have been a lot longer. Awful camera poisonings, AI, lack of the save game option, and the lack of a few control features like jumping.
