There's not much I can say about the AI in this game. Most of the opponents are mindless grunts, frequently appearing in bunches and relying on sheer numbers rather than wit. The praiseworthy effort of the dev. team sees the introduction of exceptional boss-sections, where players get to combat cool oversized, horrid-looking, mutated aliens and positively eerie parasites. Another intriguing aspect of Resident Evil 4 is that it keeps players in suspense with constant unexpected twists in the plot. And, each level was designed in a unique way, so it never feels repetitive or boring.

To many of you, Resident Evil 4 may seem a bit outdated graphically when compared to modern-day AAA shooters. There aren't any contemporary visual parameters such as anti-aliasing or shaders to toy around with. This game is really not about next-gen. In contrast to standard action games, it appeals to gamers by introducing them to a bone-chilling atmosphere, creepy creatures, thrilling boss-sections and a suspenseful storyline. It boils down to this: if we disregard a few flaws, this is one helluva horror rollercoaster. What's more, it's gonna take you a while to finish it. The best part, of course, is that it's possible to pre-order the PC version for 20 bucks, which, you'll have to admit, is a fair price for a thrilling horror-themed shooter. There's also quite a lot to come back to once you've finished the game. The best bit is that you can experience the whole story again through the eyes of a completely different character, thus unwrapping further details about the plot. This kind of storytelling is not found too often and it was certainly a pleasure to undertake.
Unfortunately, Resident Evil 4 (PC) fails to hit a higher score thanks to the flimsy keyboard controls. Once again, spare yourself the ordeal and do not attempt to play this one without a gamepad. Another negative aspect is that gamers who have already played through the entire game on the GameCube might not want to repeat the experience on the PC. After all, apart from the high-res options, there really aren't any obvious improvements over the game's console counterpart.

ACTIONTRIP SCORE 8.6 Very Good Scary ambiance, exciting story (for a horror game anyway), artwork, imaginative monsters, level design, the old gameplay mechanics still work, high replay value; A long and painful journey if you don't have a PC-compatible gamepad by your side, not much to see if you've played it on the NGC.
