» All About SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars on ActionTrip

The soundtrack in SpellForce 2 is excellent. Each theme corresponds beautifully with the environment and the action taking place on screen. Although, I think the development team needed to establish richer audio in the backdrop - sometimes, ambient noises just seem way too faint. Plus, some of the voiceovers are a complete disaster. As a matter of fact, a great number of in-game characters suffered on account of lousy voice acting, and that certainly reduces the overall quality of the game.

If you manage to finish the single-player campaign, there's ample opportunity to continue enjoying SP2: Shadow Wars in the multiplayer mode. You can take part in thrilling co-op missions, playing with two of your buddies online or via LAN. The idea is to team up with your friends and other players to complete a series of quests (very similar to the single-player campaign). Apart from that, there's the usual choice of standard skirmish modes on offer.

SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars comes as a well-balanced amalgamation of RTS and RPG ingredients, set in a unique universe. If you're prepared to shell out 40 bucks for this one, you should know that the game is worth every dime, featuring plenty of content and solid replay value. Crappy voice acting, however, on top of certain technical glitches, can make it slightly less enjoyable. Granted, the recently released (European) patch fixes a number of issues and other problems related to the multiplayer, but other minor blunders remain.

Everything else appears to be in tact, so I'd definitely recommend this one. It won't be a waste of your time.
